KP LAUNCH Intern – Yamin Shaikh, Infection Prevention & Patient Safety

I joined KP Launch when I was a sophomore in high school studying for my Diploma. During my summer at Kaiser Permanent,  I was placed in the Infection Prevention & Patient Safety department.

I was incredibly grateful for being accepted into the KP Launch Program, and I cannot express how much it has meant to me. As a first-generation South Asian, this opportunity has opened doors and provided me with invaluable experiences in the healthcare field. Through the program, I have learned about the intricacies of healthcare, gaining knowledge that will shape my career. The connections and relationships I have forged along this journey have been priceless. The support and mentorship I have received from individuals in the program have been instrumental in my growth, both personally and professionally. I am truly thankful for this transformative experience and the opportunities it has brought into my life.
